About John Husson of Husson Law in Colorado
John Husson of Husson Law is the father of three and grandfather of three grandsons. He approaches assisted reproductive law with a parent’s sensitivity, paired with his passion and desire to help others. John continuously improves as a lawyer and often serves clients on a pro bono basis. The Colorado Supreme Court has given him several pro bono awards. John is personable and easy to talk with, and he combines these traits with his orientation to detail and analytical mind. John enjoys cycling, hiking, movies, foreign languages, and reading in his free time. His love for travel comes from serving in the Merchant Marines in his early twenties as an officer aboard U.S. flag cargo vessels. He spent time sailing to ports in the Caribbean and South American west coast for two years. After the U.S. Merchant Marines, he spent five years as an active-duty officer in the Army.

John’s Professional Training & Experience
John’s education includes attending The University of Denver College of Law for a Juris Doctor law degree, Trinity University for his Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration, and Rutgers University for his Bachelor of Arts degree in Romance Languages. Before beginning his practice in 2002, he was an in-house counsel for large healthcare delivery systems for 20 years and served active duty in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC) of the U.S. Army for five years. Born and raised in Little Silver, NJ, he moved to Colorado from Pennsylvania, where he served for 12 years as Senior Legal Counsel with a large Pittsburgh academic medical center.
Earning His Place as an Outstanding Attorney
John was admitted by examination to practice in Colorado and Illinois, and he interned at the United States Attorney’s Office. He also paid his way through law school by working part-time. Attorney Husson was legal counsel to the U.S. Army Physical Evaluation Board while stationed at Fort Gordon Hospital, where his responsibilities included hundreds of active-duty soldiers injured in combat in Vietnam’s separation and medical retirements.
